Sweet Corn Soup

Until a few weeks ago, I wouldn’t have thought to eat sweet corn other than in salads, on pizza, backed/grilled or boiled. But recently something caught my attention! A corn soup. I was so surprised to see that I’ve never seen the real potential of sweet corn. So I have decided to give it a try and I really don’t regret it. This soup is so delicious and rich and so easy to make.

  • 1 fresh sweet corn
  • 1 cup vegetables mix (onion, carrot, celery, pepper)
  • 1 cup white asparagus
  • 10 gr butter
  • 100 ml cream (I’ve used low fat but you can choose any type you want)
  • fresh chives
  • 1 slice of whole wheat bread
  • salt
  • ground chilli

Sweet Corn Soup

1. Cut the corn in half and put one half in the oven and let it cook for 20 minutes.

2. Cut the corn beans from the other half

3. Fill half of a saucepan with water, add some salt and bring the water to a boil

4. Add the vegetables into the pan and let them cook until they become soft

5. When the vegetables are fully cooked drain then and save the water

6. Put the vegetables into a blender, add the cream and butter and mix well

7. Add some of the water you saved until you get the consistency you want

8. Take out the corn from the oven and cut off the beans

9. Cut the bread into triangles and put it into the oven for 2-3 minutes

10. Add as much soup as you want into a bowl, add some corn beans, chopped chives, ground chilli and ENJOY!

Sweet Corn Soup

Pana acum ceva timp nu m-as fi gandit niciodata sa mananc porumbul altfel decat stiam eu, copt, fiert, pe pizza sau in salate.  Asta pana cand am gasit pe internet o reteta de supa de porumb si mi-am dat aseama ca pana acum nu i-am descorperit adevaratul potential. Asa ca m-am decis sa incerc reteta si sincer, nu imi pare rau! Este absolut delicioasa si usor de preparat!

  • 1 stiulete de porumb proaspat
  • 1 cana mix de legume (ceapa, morcov, telina, ardei)
  • 1 cana sparanghel alb
  • 10 gr unt
  • 100 ml smantana de gatit(eu am folosit una cu 4% grasime dar puteti alege orice tip doriti)
  • arpagic proaspat
  • 1 felie de paine integrala
  • sare
  • Chilli proaspat macinat

Sweet Corn Soup

1. Taiati porumbul in jumatate si se pune una dintre jumatati in cuptor pentru aproximativ 20 de minute.

2. Dati jos boabele de pe cealalta jumatate de porumb

3. Umpleti pe jumatate o oala cu apa, adaugati putina sare si puneti oala la fiert

4. Cand apa clocoteste adaugati legumele si fiebeti-le pana devin moi

5. Scurgeti legumele dar nu aruncati apa

6. Puneti legumele intr-un blender, adaugati smantana si untul si amestecati bine

7. Adaugati o parte din apa pastrata pana cand obtineti consistenta dorita

8. Scoateti porumbul din cuptor si dati jos boabele

9. Taiati panine in triunghiuri si puneti-o in cuptor pentru 2-3 minute

10. Puneti supa intr-un castron, adaugati boabe de porumb copt, arpagic tocat marunt si chilli macinat si Savurati!
